The premiere of Hawkeye is almost upon us, and don’t you forget it! Don’t worry, Disney+ is making sure it remains on top of our minds by releasing things like this featurette that sheds a lil’ bit more light on what the six-part MCU series will bring us.

The latest video on the show explores the relationship between grumpy Clint Barton (aka Hawkeye, aka Jeremy Renner) and up-and-coming archer Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld). While the clip has some scenes we’ve seen before, it also has some commentary from Steinfeld and Renner about their characters’ respective relationship.

“Finding the banter between Clint and Kate came pretty naturally,” Steinfeld mentioned in the featurette, between scenes of the two characters shooting arrows and getting into car chases.

That banter was important, for as Renner points out in the clip, “the intersection of those two characters becomes, really, the big base of what this show is about.”

The clip has more than just the actors talking, however. It also has directors Bert and Bertie in the interview chairs, where they comment on the great chemistry between the two actors “They can bicker and have you giggling behind the monitors,” Bertie said. “But then you see them in action sequences and it’s just lightning.”

Renner also had his own thoughts about working with Steinfeld on Hawkeye. “We certainly get our butt kicked all over this show,” he said.

You can see the butt-kicking and Hawkeye’s other holiday-themed shenanigans when the first two episodes drop on Disney+ on November 24, 2021.
